www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-09-03/abe-funds-stem-cells-to-help-cure-japan-wasting-disease.html

One take away I get is the value of stem cell companies in Japan. One stock is up 5 times in a year. Just think of the value it would create if a Japanese company bought out Cytori.and all its technology. Even a deal with Cytori should add big value to any listed drug company on that exchange. This ups our chances of doing a deal in Japan in my opinion.

I do not think, that anybody would disagree with that statement.

It appears Tommy T. has bought some shares- see front page under Cytori filings.

Board moderator and Site-owner. I still regret the day I started analysing the prospects of MacroPore (now Cytori) back in 2004- a left-over from the tech-bubble at that time from the century change in my portfolio- and became addicted to Cytori´s fat cell technology.

There you go- Rickey joined the party. Surely Dean will follow suit.

Why do you think Rickey did the option route with a large chunk of the buy when there was so much time left and he got better pricing in the open market ?

Now if Calhoun bought we would have a more interesting conversation...LOL

I do not have a clue to be honest. But since all is going into trust funds, it probably has something to do with the "prevailing condition" cash or tax wise in the fund. One thing very positive about Rickey is his share ownership. Beats all other Directors by miles (except Hedrick)

Calhoun is a different story- I do remember the stories on the YMB on his lifestyle by Palaceo, which I have also picked up from other sources. So do not wish for "simple things" that will not happen. :bang:

Yes Rickey and Hedrick are the big fish in the small pool of management ownership. :really:

I am sure you remember that CC did buy in the open market once years ago and bailed before the rug was pulled out in what would be a long line of failures. I agree, unlikely he takes that kind of risk again when options are free.

Maybe Lloyd will now double down. Then when we hit 10xWD, he will be all the richer.

joey, not understanding why you want to see japanese compamy buy out cytori. based on current pps and 100% or even 200% premium most investors would not even break even.

hedge perhaps would be more meaningful if he could get his buddies in congress and senate who can buy on inside info without penalty from the sec to get in on the deal,if this pps is in fact a deal. maybe they will wait for secondary and even lower pps. who really knows at this point it's all been a disapointment up til now.

Rothco what shareholders would be willing to sell for that kind of premium?. We know the value of the tech and so does big business. Major shareholders want a lot more than 8 bucks for a buyout
